Eating fat is good?

Who would have thought that a diet based on mostly fat can be good for you, but apparently it is true. The majority of the most successful diets nowadays are based on the principle of eating a lot of fat and protein and hardly any carbohydrates. Such a diet can not only help you lose weight, but it is also claimed to be better for your health than a typical carbohydrates based diet. It is argued that during our evolution our bodies have not changed a lot, however our diets have. Whereas prehistoric people were eating mostly meat, which included protein and fat and little carbohydrates, the modern people eat mostly processed carbohydrates based foods. This change in diet is what leads to fat gain since our bodies were developed to process meat and fat and not necessarily the carbohydrates.

Internet is filled with pictures of people who have been living on the low carb high fat diet for years, and the images will convince even the most skeptic readers that the diet must be good for you. You see 60-70 year old men posing shirtless and showing off their bodies that most 20 year olds would envy. These people look better and they look younger. It is argued that such a diet will not only help you look better, but it will also let you live longer. Whether this is true, or whether these internet examples are just extraordinary exceptions, only time will tell. But I know that whenever I want to lose a few extra pounds quickly without tummy tuck surgery, I can just go on the ’fat diet'for a week - it definitely works and you get better results as well.
